Bob, have you heard anything about this? I've written to the WWP for an explanation.

This sounds much better than what first heard:

"Hi Bob,

Thank you for your email and interest in finding out more about Wounded Warrior Project.

Wounded Warrior Project has always welcomed religious fundraisers and donations from religious organizations. We happily accept support from many diverse groups to honor and empower Wounded Warriors.

We did turn down this potential fundraiser because it did not fit several of our giving guidelines for community events. Unfortunately, we mistakenly communicated to the church that the event was turned down because we do not accept donations from religious groups, which is not the case. We work with many diverse groups to honor and empower Wounded Warriors including religious groups. We have called the church to apologize for any confusion.

Should you like to help us fulfill our vision of the most successful and well-adjusted generation of injured service men and women in our nation’s history and would like to register an event or make a donation, we would be extremely grateful and encourage you to reach out. Thank you again and we hope you continue to support WWP and our mission of honoring and empowering our nation’s Wounded Warriors!

The WWP Community Events Team"
