I don't know any atheists who act as though they believe they are Gods and I know a lot of atheists. For differing reasons, they don't believe in God, end of story.

I am yet to meet an atheist who thought himself a god. I do not expect ever to meet one.

(If ever you meet someone who says to you "I do not exist", don't believe them.)

When people put things above God such as computers, TV, etc., in a sense it is said they make those things their God. When people put pride above God they "play" God in a sense. In that light Atheists play God continually. Some of our members take things I say quite literally instead of seeing the "veiled" meaning. Just as pride made Lucifer fall from heaven it "makes" atheists play the role of a deist though they may not directly think of themselves as Gods.

I suppose if you don't believe in God (i.e., God does not exist) then everything that exists is above that which does not exist.
