In case many of you missed the change in status of one of our long time members Jacob Maurer, who has been a member here since September of 2002.

It is my privilege to announce to you all that Jacob is now Fr. Jacob Maurer, he was ordained to the priesthood in May of this year.

For those of you that have prayed with him during his seminary days, your prayers have been answered.

His User name has been changed to reflect his new status.

Thank you all. It is wonderful to (finally!) be a priest - the last month and a half has been simply amazing.

Unfortunately, I can't say that I was ordained in the year of the priest (my ordination was June 13th, the year of the priest started June 19th), but I do agree that it is awesome to have it by my first year of priesthood. A neat grace moment for sure.

Another grace-filled tidbit: June 13th is the feast of St. Anthony of Padua. My confirmation saint is St. Anthony of Padua. Coincidence? I choose to believe otherwise!

In short, God is great. Thank you for your support & friendship here. I look forward to many more years as a COL member (albeit infrequently!).

Peace,
Father Maurer

(In the photo Bob put linked to, I am the dark/curly-haired priest on the right)

Thank you Bob for those beautiful photographs. Its great to see a picture of Father Maurer as we will no doubt be speaking with him or reading his posts from time to time.

Father Maurer, I guessed you were the good looking Priest

On a serious note though Father, was that your parents on one of the photographs. They too have been Blessed to have been so fruitful.

Thank you for sharing Father, and of course, Bob.

Thank you for joining The Priesthodd.

Maria :)

Congratulations, Father!

Would you kindly impart your blessing upon n the COL Forum community and remember us in your memento's of the Mass every now and then? It's comforting to know that there's another servant of the Lord offering our intentions in persona Christi, and He knows if we could use some extra grace (at least I know I need it!)!!

Father Maurer

Congratulations! I can remember when you were a young seminarian sharing on the forum. It's good to have you back as a priest.
