… much ado about nothing!

A Storm to Keep an Eye on … a potential MAJOR winter storm by Wednesday and Thursday.

Nothing major for the Denver area, some snow showers mid-week and another chance next weekend of a few inches.

The latest NWS forecast puts the KC area at the southern end of the 6"-12" band of snow Thursday.

Winter Storm Q: How Much Snow?

Wouldn't snow be a good thing for a land ravaged by drought last summer?

Well, yes it would, Dean but if I had my druthers, I'd opt for three inches or less about every other week of the winter, with warm weather and melting occurring in between storms! :hold:

(But I am well aware that God doesn't consult me (nor should He) about the weather!

The NWS forecast as of 4:00 p.m., Tuesday does nothing to build my confidence.

Our forecast shifted to 6" to 8" by morning, started snowing about an hour ago. Snow thrower is gassed up.

Looks like you folks get the worst of this one.

You're right, Bob. The Raging Blizzard of 2013 arrived on schedule and ready to rock!

At latest report, the depth here was 8", with 2" more to fall before it moves on.

Just sat down for a bite and the Weather Radio went off, nearly jumped out of the chair it's so unusual this time of year; 10" of snow, blowing snow to blizzard conditions tonight through tomorrow, church is ten miles away so it might be an EWTN Mass day.

Well, I guess we'll get tomorrow off but it doesn't appear that our respite will last very long. Hopefully, a couple or three of the 13 inches already on the ground will melt tomorrow as the temperature rises above freezing before the Next Big Snow moves in on Monday. :(

Boy! I wish I'd had some of these when I was putting together my "Out In the Snow" music video.

Jim,
These are some wonderful photos. Really enjoyed them.
In the first photo you posted on the 26th, what is the thing in the lower right-hand corner?

That is our neighbor's to the north fountain, with a statue in the middle which spouts streams of water (in weather when there is no danger of it turning to ice!).

Here's a larger photo of it!

Oh, it's pretty. I was not sure ... thought it might be a statue of the Virgin Mary in the middle.

LOL In and of itself, no, but as part of the whole beautiful winter picture, there is something about it that I like.
