The seven Copts accused of blasphemy are: the film’s producer, Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, Maurice Sadeq Girgis Abdel Shahid, a lawyer and founder of the National American Coptic Assembly (an association which has no links with the Coptic dioceses in the U.S.), Nabil Adib Bassada, Fekry Abdel Masih Zoqloma, Morcos Aziz Khalil, Phoebe Abdel Masih Paules Salib and Nader Farid Nicola.

At the moment, the most serious concern regarding the announced verdict is that it may influence the fate of Alber Saber, an atheist blogger brought up by an Egyptian Coptic Christian family, who was arrested in Cairo after he was accused of publishing some clips from The Innocence of Muslims film on various Facebook profiles.
