In spite of the fact that I like contact sports, I am generally a quiet and non-confrontational type of person.

So, I don't know where I got the courage to stand up to somebody going on a racist anti-arab (or as he would say ay-rabb) rant this afternoon. I refused to back down and agree with his view of the world. And that kept getting him angrier and angrier. I managed to keep calm and remain (reasonably) polite.

I guess, in fact, I do know where I got the courage. From God ....

I'm a wimp, but agree that sometimes we're moved by the Holy Spirit and nothing makes us back down because we know we're speaking the truth that comes from God.

methinks that physical courage and moral courage are two very different animals ...

in the first case, adrenalin kicks in to help you get through

in the latter case, it can be much easier to walk away

Yeah, but only because I know you're not going to come down to Sherman Oaks to beat me up.

Hi Val,

From what comes across in your posts, you seem to have a very admirable inner strength.

Thanks Squirt! Very nice to hear, especially today when my inner strength is being tested.
