I'm watching the news right now. Lord, have mercy. (And the shooter seems to be a mere kid himself - 20 years old.) Yes, I'm praying for all involved.

I didn't hear about it until a couple hours ago and like Jim, I've been crying and praying. I understand there is one murderer still out there. Praying for his capture though I certainly won't feel bad if he's dead. Maybe that's wrong but if an evil man dies, I'm not upset.

I found the headline in the New York Times interesting '
Quote:
Who Would Do This to Our Poor Little Babies'

Planned Parenthood for one. Wonder how many babies died in abortions in Connecticut yesterday went unnoticed yesterday?

Mary Jo,

Totally stunned!

When I awake on Christmas morning my first thoughts will be for those 20 children who will not wake up that morning and open their presents. For their parents and Grandparents who will suffer so much on that day.
For the families of all of the victims.

I shall pray for them all! Also for the future of the School and Community.

God bless you

Graham

This unfortunate incident has all the earmarks of demon involvement. The word heinous does not even do it justice. This deranged individual was motivated to inflict as much suffering on as many as he could and this is a sign that goes beyond mental illness. This was the darkest evil at work here. I have seen evidence of this before with anger being used to cause much harm. False pride and anger are great tools for heinous crimes like this. I am not guessing, I know. I have the discernment.

Of course we can pray for the victims and their families but could we have prayed to prevent this? A prayer might be thought of to be directed to bind satan to possible future incidents like this. I believe that this would be a worthwhile endeavor for prayer intentions. I am not saying that prayers aren't effective for all concerned after the fact, but perhaps they may be more effective to prevent and thwart this evil from happening again. Of course the world is sick morally and wicked in many ways but we are like Knights of Prayer. We cannot feel helpless or that the situation is hopeless. We become numb at this type of news to insulate ourselves from the very harsh realities of the times we live in. This is a natural defense that we use. However, we must not forget our responsibility to pray on a daily basis to prevent this from ever happening again. I believe that prayer and penance can do this. Just like 911 we must never forget to offer a prayer to bind demons from this horrible and disgusting action.

As Francis said in his peace prayer. "Make me a channel of your peace." I am quite sure that there are some who say the antithesis of this prayer. Please, help break the mounting evil energy which brings about this type of behavior that goes beyond sick. Just as we say the prayer "Lead all souls to Heaven......" after each decade of the Rosary cannot we say something like,

"Lord please bind satan and his army of demons who seek the ruin of souls and promote the most heinous of crimes against humanity. Protect all our children everywhere from the evil which lurks seeking to devour innocence and goodness, God we beg thee through the precious blood of thy holy Son, Jesus."

How many will accept this apostolate? How many will forget or give in to the temptation to not offer a prayer like this? Of course a prayer like this will inflict much suffering upon demons and they will do whatever they can to get one to not say a prayer such as this. How many will dismiss this as another "do gooder's dream"? What are the consequences of NOT adding a prayer like this? Remember Sandy Hook Connecticut. Picture your children in that classroom of martyrs. Is that motivation enough? May God Bless all who read this.

I love the prayers. Please don't forget to ask yourself what can you do to help stop the problem. I talked to a lady that prays all the time but what effort does she make to change things? She said that she thinks that all she has to do is pray and worry about her own... that was her reasoning for not voting. Let your passion for prayer light a fire in your heart to do something.

God bless.
