Jim, if you folks are looking for a quiet Kansas small town getaway on June 1st consider coming to the Muscotah Rose Festival. We're going out to visit friends in Muscoth and to enjoy a good old country get-together. I think you would probably come in through Atchison. You can look for information as it comes available here: http://www.thenewsleaf.com/
in the Muscotah column by our dear friend Selma and CJ.
Thanks for the heads up, Bob. I've bookmarked the Effingham newspaper. Yes, if we are at are KCK home, we would take 73 highway to Atchison, then head west on US 159.
If we were at the farm (a good possibility on June 1), we would take US 136 west to 159, then straight south to Muscotah.
Interestingly, it's about equidistant from either location … five miles farther from Rock Port.
Did you know Joe Tinker of Tinkers to Evers to Chance
double play fame was from Muscotah?
I will consider your position if stated with firm, well-thought-out, quiet reasoning. Hateful diatribe, ad hominem attacks and shouted rhetoric don't impress.
