"And lo, you shall know that the penitential season of Lent is approaching by signs and wonders." - Second Opinions 3:16.

I think this is the sign Our Lord foretold. And certainly two sandwiches for $3 is a wonder!

As part of my upcoming Lenten journey, I would like to confess that I love the Filet-o-fish sandwich. :tsk:

Then it isn't a penance and you may not eat it on Friday for your lenten abstinence. Or perhaps you may if you also like fries and pass on the large order.

I have known people who will not eat any restaurant vegetables that are fried in oil during times of abstinence because that oil may have been used priorly to cook meat dishes.

How far can one go before being guilty of the sin of scrupulosity?

That's close.

Though refraining from it as a means of personal mortification may be in order. Fried in oil tends to mean yummy.
