I've been watching an excellent movie by former Idaho Representative Curtis Bowers called AGENDA: The Grinding Down of America.

It shows clearly the plans to move America towards Socialism.

I'd like to be able to post a link but I wanted to check if I can first.

Well, I think it may be too early morning over there so I'll post the link and see what happens.

I put it on my watch list and will eventually get around to it. Right now I focus on 2014.

Finally watched it -WOW eye opening.

Many things I see and have seen myself going on (especially with the rise of Obama) that seem obviously to promote evil, social disorder, and moral decay are not just my imagination? Further, there is an agenda and it's origins are communist.

There are many communists among us -many in government -many working side by side with President Obama -for example, 'Pastor' Jim Wallis -President Obama's spiritual advisor, a communist.

I wonder what spiritual advice is given by a follower of Marx? I am sure it has something to do with 'social justice'.

The question is what exactly is the agenda to defeat these leftists and when will people wake up and realize the enemy is in the wire?

Careful Daniel, attempts at waking the public are immediately classified and summarily dismissed as right-wing paranoia.

I would love to have the opportunity to give a speech on the floor of the House or Senate.

It is too bad that there are few brave enough to tell it like it is. Allen West was one such patriot.

I thought you were a sub mariner.

I grew up on fishing boats, was a sailor long before I joined the Navy and did some small boat sailing on Chesapeake Bay while I was in the navy as well. As for being on submarines, true, but those Diesel boats are on the surface in serious storms for safety. I did my share of watch-standing as a young seaman, I was out on watch strapped to the superstructure with the Officer of the Deck during hurricane Ginny in 1963, best high-adventure ride on the planet. Sure miss the ocean, the Rockies just don't compare and I prefer my oysters to come from the sea, not bulls.

Is this thread in the Cabin Fever section for a reason?

I as well have some fond memories and a few sea stories. Ever since the navy I need to live near the ocean -something primal...

Standing in the sail, transiting on the surface at night in the middle of the Atlantic under the stars -nothing comes close...

Daniel, you can see in this model photo that our bridge was quite low at the front of the sail so during a heavy storm we often took "green water" over the bridge. There was a heavy plexiglass half-bubble that protected us from a direct blast of water but we got plenty wet. Used to have to anticipate the waves before opening the conning tower hatch to prevent too much water from getting through the hatch.

Really, I always thought that they were safer submerged.

There are no closure valves for the flood ports along the bottom of the ballast tanks on the diesel boats so if a boat was surfacing and at or just below broaching depth and took a heavy roll the tanks could re-flood. At that point in the surfacing process there would not be enough high pressure air nor enough low pressure blower capacity to blow the tanks again, the boat could sink and we would not have sufficient propulsion power to prevent it. During hurricane Ginny we were rolling nearly to the capsize angle and running the low-pressure blowers often to clear the ballast tanks so the danger was very real and resurfacing would have been nearly suicidal. The nukes have the power to drive to the surface, the ability to make air and stay submerged to outlast the storm and flood valves at the bottom of the ballast tanks so they are not subject to the same threat.

Ian,

I noticed the SBS ONE watermark at the beginning.

I've watched the whole series of Big, Bigger, Biggest. Excellent stuff. I particularly enjoyed the episodes "Bridge" and "Dome". Of course the episode "Ferris Wheel" was about the one in Singapore.

There is an episode "Aircraft Carrier" which features the USS Nimitz.

James,

I've not watched the one on the Singapore Flyer yet. On the carrier, I like NatGeo's USS Ronald Reagan.

I learned a couple new things from that. Thank you, Ian.

But a minor quibble; the largest submarine is the Russian Akula/Typhoon ballistic missile submarine. At 48,000 tons, it's gigantic. It's nearly three times the displacement of the Ohio class. It's slightly longer, wider, and deeper than the Ohios. The additional size is mostly due to additional pressure hull construction.
