A safety campaign for Metro Trains in Melbourne has become an international You Tube sensation.

The quirky clip called Dumb Ways to Die has had nearly 12 million views on You Tube since it was leaked less than a week ago.

The video features animated characters killing themselves in a variety of "dumb" ways.

Set fire to your hair
Poke a stick at a grizzly bear
Eat medicines that's out of date
Use your private parts as piranha bait

Dumb ways to die, so many dumb ways to die

Get your toast out with a fork
Do your own electrical work
Teach yourself how to fly
Eat a two week old unrefrigerated pie

Dumb ways to die, so many dumb ways to die...

Cute.

I have a feeling I should not admit to this, but I've stuck forks and knives in toasters a few times and I'm still here.

Most medications that are expired can be taken safely and still have the same efficacy. Some meds will lose their efficacy and therefore, I suppose that in theory it can then cause a death. Insulin is one such medication. The US army did a study of something like over 100 medication because they had huge stockpiles worth millions and that's where my info comes from. The drug companies have to come up with an expiration date and aren't going to spend twelve years doing the study and constantly changing the expiration date. Also, some pharmacies simply put their own version of an expiration date, usually a year. I just took meds last month that were two years past their expiration date and no problems.
