Here's praying his recovery is prompt and complete!

Robert Griffin III out of surgery

Quote:
Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III has emerged from about five hours of surgery to repair the anterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments in his right knee, two people with knowledge of the situation said Wednesday.

Orthopedic surgeon James Andrews began the surgery to repair Griffin’s LCL about 7 a.m. and determined that his ACL – the same ligament Griffin tore as a sophomore at Baylor University in 2009 – also was in need of repair.

It’s not yet known precisely how long it will take for Griffin to recover. Three high-profile orthopedic surgeons familiar with the type of procedure Griffin had – but not involved in his case – said the quarterback could face a lengthy road back.

That is a great shame. Not that I have particular fondness for the Redskins, but it is always a shame for a great athlete to suffer a potential career-ending injury, and certainly one that will affect his future performance.

This is a tragedy. I DO have a particular fondness for the Redskins, and it's a great shame to lose him for a long time.

God speed his recovery, and let this be a lesson in humility for both him and the Red Fox (Mike Shanahan).

All indications I have heard is that he will be back for next season.

The other thing that worries me, frankly, is that there's very little coming out "officially". It's all "a source with knowledge of the situation". Which could be Dr. James Andrews or Robert Griffin himself, or it could be...who knows?

I'd like some official information.

Though as pointed out in the press recently, official information is totally untrustworthy from the Redskins.

I'm praying for a complete recovery for Robert Griffin.
