How does that compare to the practice I've seen since I was playing little league and empty lot softball? "Oh, soandso is up to bat, everyone come in/go out."

They're being a little more scientific about it is all. Indeed, I'm kind of tickled by the idea of sandlot ball meets computer age here. If that's evolution, I don't think it's in a bad way. They still have to do their homework and work for it. It's certainly not the sort of edge that juicing gives a player and his team.

Rose it's almost silly how scientific they've gotten. All the players are carrying little cheat sheets printed on index cards based on the info for the day.

I don't see how that's any different from them shouting to each other that person A is at bat. They're just doing more homework and preparing a little more. That angle of things kind of tickles me, too.
