Greetings all,

I heard the word Theosis in a class recently and am not truly certain I understand its concept. I think it means becoming holy. Am I understanding the word rightly?

Only in a very general way.

Theosis is not just an Eastern Orthodox teaching. It is also very Catholic, though it is not discussed much.

Remember the prayer at Mass, "May we become partakers of Your Divinity Who hath taken part in our humanity".
