Does anyone knows how many copts are in Egypt????

Coptic numbers are hard to find , this is the case for all middle eastern christians, they are kept secret by the government for political reasons, but Copts claim , that they have 10 million in egypt and 5 million outside egypt.

Copts have a catholic branch united with rome, and they have a cardinal also, their numbers are said to be around 200 thousands in 1998, but their numbers have been increasing dramatically in the last 5 years on the expense of the orthodox ones ( same case for Syriacs and Assyrians )

There is a branch of the Chaldeans called "Assyrians" wich they are orthodox, there where persecuted in Irak and their Patriarch moved to USA, do you know if under the new administration in Irak, they are willing to go back to their country? Are there still Assyrinans living in Irak?

I asked a coptic preist he said that coptics ( orthodox and catholics ) are around 12 milllions in egypt right now, and the same number is out of egypt.
