 Post subject: Convalidation required?

Here is the scenario....husband and wife are not Catholic. Both werer married before and divorced. One spouse desires to convert to Catholicism. If both receive decrees of nullity do they need to have the marriage convalidated in the Church or is the civil marriage they contracted as non-Catholics valid?
