Have you got your 2013 patron saint?
Using Jennifer Fulwiler's Saint's Name Generator I got St. Adelaide of Brugundy. Patron saint of abuse victims and princesses... interesting
I think it's a good way to get to know new saints, or become even more familiar with one I already know.
So what about you? What saint, if any, will be your patron saint for 2013?

I used the patron saint finder here http://truthandcharity.net/starting-the ... off-right/ and drew St. Faustina Kowalska which made me very apprehensive about the new year. :( I don't know... I find her writings scary.

I like saint Faustina and the Divine Mercy Chaplet, but it took me forever to get through her Diary. It's heavy...

... and I had to try the saint generator you linked to, so my second patron saint for 2013 will be Saint Agnes :)

If you want to put stock into the results from random number generators it's mildly amusing that on the 'truth and charity' site, St Faustina has been 'assigned' to drawings of the number 42 ... which is, as anybody who has read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, "the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything."

p.s., a nice feature of the site that Line linked to is that the html code includes a 'hidden' litany to the saints. very nice touch.

Where do you see 42?

Hi Grace,

It's in the 'source code'. The page that Line linked to uses the following correspondence between numbers and saints:

http://www.truthandcharity.net/js/drawsaint.js

Again, it's just a matter of looking at the source code ... what browser do you use? Most will let you look at the raw html code that generates what you see on screen.

I'm not a programmer by trade, but I used to hand code html for our work web site back in the day ...
